Losing Weight After Pregnancy

You Have To Give Your Body A Chance To Get Back In Sync

Remember that your baby just got done using your body to grow and so it is only natural that your body is going to be stretched out of shape. On top of that you are probably retaining a bit of water that is going to take you at least two or three weeks to lose naturally. Some women have been known to carry up to 20 pounds of water weight so once that is gone you may not have as much baby weight to lose as you think you do.

You also have to keep in mind that is going to take 6 to 8 weeks for your doctor to clear you for regular exercise so until then you are going to have to be content with taking slow laps around the house to get in a bit of exercise to help you in losing weight after pregnancy.

There Are Some Things You Can Do To Start Taking Off Weight

Breast feed. Breast feeding results in burning 500 calories a day. What could be better than spending a little quality time with that new bundle of joy and burning calories while you do it.

Eat Healthy. While most doctors don’t recommend you go on a diet immediately after birth eating healthy is an entirely different matter. By eating lean meats, fruits and vegetables and drinking water instead of sugary soft drinks you will be limiting your calorie intake and eating the healthiest food possible for both you and the baby.

Being a new mother can be stressful. So try to learn some breathing techniques that will help to relieve stress instead of heading to the refrigerator. Also make sure you find the time to get a few minutes of relaxation in during the day because it will aid digestion.

Most important remember it took 9 months to have your baby and put on those extra pounds losing weight after pregnancy may well take just as long. After all, you may not be quite ready to fit into those skinny jeans again, but you can now fit into jeans that actually snap or button and you have a wonderful new life to show for this temporary weight gain.

So take heart, eat healthy, breast feed, and get some mild exercise that will help in losing weight after pregnancy.
